My name is Raven, and I was born and raised in Central Texas. I’m a wife, mother, homemaker, content creator, but most of all; I’m a reader. I live for books and have been reading longer than I can remember. Hooked on Phonics worked for me when I was barely 2 years old and it’s been hard to tear a book from my hands ever since. I actually remember my grandfather coming outside to find me at my “reading tree” and forcefully taking my book away so I would come in for dinner, because otherwise I didn’t eat until I finished the book.
Bookish Diaries isn’t my first foray into the blogging world. I’ve been a blogger for 6+ years, though I did take a hiatus while I had children. I really regret shutting down my former book blog, even more so since it meant shutting down my Netgalley Reading Challenge, but it was a season of life where I thought I would be done blogging. Now that my kids are older, I realized how badly I missed the blogging world, so obviously a new book blog was a necessity for me to have!

- I’m the eldest of three children
- I was born on Cinco de Mayo, but that is about the extent of my Spanish. I only passed that class because Senora Villareal took pity on me.
- I’m a creative writer. I mostly stick to fanfiction, but I have written the first drafts of 14 novels. I publish very very little of my fanfic and none of my original work. Maybe I will get brave enough to someday.
- I wrote my first book when I was seven years old. I unfortunately lost the manuscript in a flood in childhood.
- I wanted to be an author since I was a child, but everyone told me I couldn’t. Between my dyslexia and everyone thinking that I could never make it a career, no one ever had faith in me. I never wanted to make it my job, it was just something I wanted to do, but no one wanted to hear that.
